Editorial method

Every assertion in Francorium carries its source, its licence and its review status. Nothing is anonymous.

Three layers, never blended

Contemporary definitions written for Francorium, morphological data imported from Morphalou, and historical testimony from witness dictionaries are kept distinct on every page, each with its own provenance.

Review statuses

• Draft: awaiting review, served with a banner, never indexed.
• No label: the definition has passed quality control (accuracy, self-sufficiency, non-circularity, one sense per definition, language), with a sample reviewed on every batch.
• Internally reviewed: read and approved by the editorial team.
• Expert reviewed: signed off by a named expert reviewer.

Historical witnesses

A witness dictionary keeps its own voice: its senses are never merged into ours, its text is quoted with attribution, and its era is always visible.

Dated attestations

Some senses carry a dated citation from a witness dictionary, matched to that sense by two independent checks (only agreed matches are kept). The quotation belongs to its witness and keeps its licence and attribution; the MATCH is the Francorium assertion. A sense with no fitting citation shows none: an approximate attestation would be worse than silence.
